What We Are Learning
This page will be updated as we learn new things! There will be resources that you can use at home with your child to practice skills we have learned in the classroom.
MATH: Rote Counting - The goal is to be able to rote count to 100 by the end of kindergarten.
1st 9 weeks practice rote counting with your child to 25.
Counting and writing how many (0-10)
Sorting objects by size, shape and color.
Ways to practice at home: Set the table ex. "Show 4 plates on the table."
How many yellow shirts do you have? Blue shirts? Etc.
Look at the sky. How many birds do you see?
SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES: Describing similarities and differences between self and others (families, what we like to do, etc). Describing how we change over time (starting a new school, having a baby sibling).
READING: Print Concepts - holding books the correct way, turning one page at a time, looking at the pictures first.
Ways to practice at home: Read daily with your child. Look at the pictures and talk about what is happening. Show your child where you start reading on each page.

WRITING: Names - first letter is capital, the rest are lowercase
